Dr. Jared Ellman

Dr. Ellman has been a board certified psychiatrist in Philadelphia since 2002. He currently practices privately in Center City and is a Clinical Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania (HUP).

He completed his undergraduate training at Johns Hopkins University, graduating Phi Beta Kappa with a B.A. in Mathematics. He obtained his medical degree from the University of Pennsylvania and went on to complete his residency training in Psychiatry at HUP.

Dr. Ellman has held multiple clinical positions since finishing his psychiatric training. These include staff psychiatrist at the Renfrew Center for women's mental health, Westchester University Counseling Center, Villanova University Counseling Center, and Hall-Mercer Crisis Response Center as well as attending physician on the medical consultaion-liason service at HUP.

Dr Ellman was awarded a National Institute of Mental Health research training grant in 1994. He was a recipient of the Kenneth E Appell Award for study in Mental Health in 1998 and received the Philadelphia Psychoanalytic Foundation’s Resident Award in 2002.
